CHANGES IN BUILD 20260304:

  • In the battery screen, added the option to consider cycle life dependence on C-rate, for full cycles to failure model and for Rainflow model.
  • In PHS (pumped hydro storage), added the option that water consumption can move or not the turbine (in previous versions it was assumed that water load always moved the turbine).
  • In the simulation screen, option to save in Excel only the days that are visualizated in that moment.
  • Fixed minor bugs.

Changes in build 20251229:

  • Added the option of floating license.
  • Added the option to consider asymmetric battery in charge/discharge (different maximum current for charge and for discharge), by adding a factor to calculate maximum charge current.
  • Added the possibility to use reserve in PV and/or Wind (AC PV and/or wind generation is reduced in a percentage), the reserve can be used if needed to comply with FCR and/or ramp rate limits (ramp rate will be included in a future version). It will imply the reduction in renewable generation. Use it only if there is no storage, to comply with FCR and/or sell ramp rate limits. In NPC minimization projects, this reserve will be added to the total AC reserve capacity, however the total AC capacity required may increase further and the reserve capacity shortage can be increased.
  • Added the possibility to consider wind turbine output power at wind speed higher than 26 m/s, by introducing the cut-out wind speed (before it was not possible to be higher than 26 m/s). Also added restart wind speed.
  • In FCR window, possibility to use PV and/or wind AC power to reduce battery charge FCR needs and PV and/or wind reserve power to reduce battery discharge FCR needs.
  • Improved calculation of minutes-step tilted surface irradiance when importing from minutes-step horizontal irradiance.
  • In simulation graphs, now historical zoom (before, after several zooms, when zooming-back the graph returned to the original size, now it returns to previous zoom).
  • Fixed minor bugs.

Changes in build 20251128

  • Added results of CRF (Capital Recovery Factor) and Anualized Cost in the general report and in the costs report.
  • In Simulation screen, when you save the simulation data, the Excel file obtained includes more information about the battery cycles (at the end of the Excel).
  • In Li-ion battery lifetime model «Naumann», added possiblitiy to consider only Cycling degradation or only Calendar degradation, or both simultaneously (before it was no option, both were used).
  • Added new tab in the Li-ion battery lifetime models parameters window, for the Rainflow models applied to Li-ion, which can use different parameters to the ones used by the Rainflow models of lead-acid batteries.
  • In battery lifetime model Rainflow (normal and modified), now the user can define the low DOD limits and the multiplying factor to apply to the cycles to failure defined at 10% for the cycles between 0 and the low DOD limit value defined (before, low DOD was between 0.1% and 2%, multiplying factor was 10, and user was not able to change them).
  • Added a variant of battery lifetime model Rainflow, considering the equation of the rated cycle-life curve with parameters A and B (variant shown in Alam MJE, Saha TK. Cycle-life degradation assessment of Battery Energy Storage Systems caused by solar PV variability. IEEE Power Energy Soc Gen Meet 2016;2016:1–5).
  • In Saxena and Naumann Li-ion battery lifetime models, added options to calculate average DOD and average SOC considering cycles weight (using DOD as the weight, by default) or considering all the cycles same weight.
  • Added possibilty to select the inverter for the battery considering C-rate instead of duration.
  • In battery life model «Full equivalent cycles», fixed bug when calculating lifetime including calendar ageing. IT COULD IMPLY CHANGE IN RESULTS of previous projects where battery lifetime was calculated considering full eq. cycles and calendar ageing simultaneously.
  • In Li-ion battery lifetime model «Naumann», fixed bug of FEC calculation. IT COULD IMPLY CHANGE IN RESULTS of previous projects where Naumann battery lifetime model was used.
  • Fixed bugs in battery lifetime model Rainflow (modified version).
  • Fixed bugs in battery lifetime model Wang. IT COULD IMPLY CHANGE IN RESULTS of previous projects where Wang battery lifetime model was used.
  • Fixed bugs related to the strategy of electrolyzer full load when there is load and in some cases of battery control strategy.

  • Added option to obtain 1-minute time steps irradiation and wind speed data considering autocorrelation function when importing data from file with time steps between 2 and 30 minutes (before it was only done when importing from hourly file).
  • Added option to calculate standard deviation of the autocorrelation function (to calculate 1-minute time steps wind speed) considering Turbulence Intensity (TI) for each original time step: std_dev(t)=TI*wind_speed(t).
  • Added option to visualize the wind speed PDF considering minutes steps (before wind speed PDF was only with averaged 1-hour tiem steps).
  • Improved calculation of surplus energy (to be sold to the grid) in some cases. It can affect results of previous projects.
  • Fixed bug related to default projects (if there exists default project saved by the user).
  • Fixed error of previous build when opening the software in some cases («Access violation…»).
